Who We Are.

Sammy Vassallo, C.P.A.

Sammy graduated Seton Hall University with a BSBA in Accounting and became a member of the New Jersey Society of the Certified Public Accountants shortly thereafter. He established the firm in 1996 and has been practicing accounting for more than 25 years. He and his firm service clients in many industries including: medical care, real estate, retail, transportation, wholesale, logistics, construction, and Information Technology. He has provided these companies and their owners with accounting, tax, consulting, and management assistance.  Sammy and the firm have evolved over the years to serve a vast array of client-types in their continuously changing economic and personal needs.  As the firm's client base matured, in addition to the services mentioned above, the following special services have become an important focus for Sammy and his clients:

Barbara Adams, C.P.A.

Barbara graduated from Kean College, Summa Cum Laude, with a BS in Accounting. Barbara became a certified public accountant in 2007, but has worked in the accounting field for more than 25 years. While going to college, Barbara started with a private company, SGS North America Inc. and grew with the company, learning many areas of accounting including financial reporting and taxes.  Barbara came to work for Vassallo & Associates, PC. in 2005 and has assisted small businesses with their accounting and tax needs.  Barbara is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

Karen Rizzo, Senior Accountant

Karen graduated from Seton Hall University in 1993 with a BA in Accounting. She has been part of our team since 1993 and is one of the founding Associates of Vassallo & Associates, PC.. Karen is the office manager as well as senior accountant. She is passionate about helping clients with their individual taxes as well as small businesses with their bookkeeping and tax needs. She has experience working with a variety of small businesses over the years.  Karen has found her niche in assisting clients faced with many challenges in growing their business, changing their business models, adapting to industry needs, and streamlining procedures for more efficient client/company operations. These techniques have helped clients achieve greater reward both financially and personally. 

Laura Quinn, Senior Accountant

Laura is a Senior Accountant with more than 35 years of experience in public accounting, specializing in taxation and strategic tax planning. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the College of St. Elizabeth and her Master of Science in Taxation from Fairleigh Dickinson University while working full time in public accounting. Laura's professional background includes roles at several well-established CPA firms, including Thomas M. Dempsey, CPA, and Mills & DeFilippis, CPAS, LLP, where she served as a Tax Manager. In 2013, she joined Vassallo & Associates, P.C., CPAs as a Senior Accountant. Laura works closely with individuals, small businesses, and high-net-worth clients, providing comprehensive tax planning, individual and business taxation services, and guidance for trusts and estates. She has extensive experience representing clients in IRS and New Jersey state tax audits, helping them navigate examinations efficiently and resolve issues with confidence. She is known for her technical expertise, attention to detail, and practical, client-focused approach to helping clients minimize tax exposure and navigating complex tax matters.

Liana Cerqueira, Accountant

Liana has over 19 years of experience in the accounting profession, she brings a depth of knowledge and a reputation for excellence cultivated through her longstanding role at Vassallo & Associates PC. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Kean University and has further enhanced her credentials with a Certificate in Forensic Accounting & Fraud Examination from Middlesex College, underscoring her commitment to accuracy, integrity, and continuous professional development. She specializes in estate and inheritance tax returns, offering clear, thoughtful guidance through complex and often sensitive financial matters. Her diverse experience spans a wide range of accounting and tax services, including payroll processing and 1099 reporting, multi-state tax filings, audits, trust returns, and the preparation of both individual and business tax returns.  In addition, she also provides reliable and efficient bookkeeping services, with strong proficiency in both QuickBooks Desktop and Online. Known for her precision, professionalism, and personalized approach, she partners closely with individuals and small business owners to deliver thoughtful financial solutions tailored to their unique circumstances, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and long-term financial confidence.

Christina Loguidice-Britting, Accountant

Christina is a dedicated and highly experienced accounting professional, she has spent over 21 years at Vassallo & Associates PC, where she has built a reputation for reliability, precision, and exceptional client service. She holds an Associate of Science degree in Accounting from Union College, providing a strong academic foundation to support her extensive hands-on experience. She is highly proficient and certified in QuickBooks Desktop and Online, expertly managing multiple priorities with efficiency and accuracy. Her areas of expertise include sales tax compliance, multi-state tax filings, audits, and the preparation of both individual and business tax returns. Her ability to navigate complex financial matters while maintaining strict attention to detail sets her apart as a trusted resource within her field. Recognized as a detail-oriented professional, she brings valuable experience in process improvement and team coordination, consistently contributing to streamlined operations and enhanced workflow efficiency. She is driven by a passion for organization, continuous improvement, professional growth, and always seeking opportunities to expand her knowledge and refine her skills.

John Adams, C.P.A.

John has been a dedicated member of our team since joining the firm in 2018, after earning his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and graduating magna cum laude from Saint Peter’s University. He then went on to complete his Master of Science in Accountancy, graduating in 2021 from Saint Peter’s University.  Since joining the firm, John has developed expertise in delivering high-quality individual tax and accounting services, with a focus on accuracy, integrity, and client satisfaction. He is passionate about helping clients navigate complex tax matters and providing thoughtful, clear and reliable solutions to ensure thorough planning and compliance. In addition, John is proficient in bookkeeping and accounting services for small businesses and preparation of business tax returns for Corporations, S-Corporations and Partnerships.
